On October 20th, 2025 you have the opportunity to elect a new voice to our
St. Albert City Council.
Kery Samardzija is the candidate that will represent you in St. Albert Place.
She is focused on being accessible to the community and it's residents.
Through in-person meetings, at public events, and online.
Kery Samardzija's promise to you is her commitment to continuing to listen to the voices of our beautiful city, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada.
To be respectful of everyone's opinions, ideas and concerns.
The candidate you can trust.
As a local small business owner, Kery has built trusted connections in our community.
As a Board Member with the St. Albert Cruisers Car Club.
And also as a Board Member with St. Alberts' own, Rock n' August.
Kery has worked with local charities and organizations raising much needed funding for various local children's charities, and for the Alberta Diabetes Foundation. Which is a cause near to her, and her family.
Especially so, as her daughter is a Type 1 Diabetic. Who at only 2 years of age was almost lost to this illness.
As a member of our local Fraternal Order of the Eagles, she is proud to serve our community through various local fund raising events.
She is also a Cosmopolitan Club member.
All that Kery Samardzija has invested her time and efforts into has always been to serve those
in her community.
She has worked with Global Village initiatives and participated in runs to raise funds for clean water, emergency supplies for relief efforts, and for various local charities. These charities have raised a combined amount of over 4 million dollars, for local Children's Hospitals, Cancer Centers, and Diabetes research.
As a business owner, she understands how to listen to what the individual wants, and needs.
And how to reach goals by collaboratively working with others.
Kery moved to St. Albert with her husband and daughter 6 years ago. After participating in Rock 'n August for over 10 years. It was time to move to the city that they had already fallen in love with.
They quickly embraced the feeling of community.
Picking up a new appreciation for the wildlife in the area. Touring the boardwalks at Big Lake. Discovering new bird species at White Spruce/Grey Nuns Park. And quietly observing the miracles of springtime at Duck Pond in the Gardens (formerly Grandin) area.
To leisurely strolls at St. Albert Botanic Park.
Kery is committed to listening-truly listening-to the voices in our community. She believes that every voice deserves to be heard and respected.
She is looking forward to doing the research and hard work necessary to transform our communities concerns into positive, and tangible outcomes for our city.
With traditional values that will work to keep St. Albert true to it's charm and history.
Embracing our community-minded residents by supporting their hopes, ideas and intentions for our children and generations to come.
The Samardzija family participates annually in The National Bird Count. This interest grew as they became closer to our natural and protected areas. Kery also enjoys nature photography, with a focus on our local bird species.

Kery Samardzija will also work on issues such as the responsibility of developers for the storage and disposal of building waste. And the effects of materials on our natural areas when not disposed of properly.
She hopes to help to protect our local bird populations and the natural habitats that support them.
"As development continues, it is crucial that we balance progress with preservation."
